Disabling Google Linking
Disabling Google Linking provides the ability for organizations who only wish to use the Google Classroom import feature a way to turn off the linking.
- Google Account Linking - Students link their Google account with their Savvas account. This is primarily available to EasyBridge Plus (auto-rostered) customers because the students know their district credentials to link to their Google account.
- Google Class Linking - Teachers can link an existing Google class with an existing Realize class.

Disabling Google Class Linking has permanent impacts. It is important to make sure the customer understands the ramifications of disabling Google Account and/or Google Class Linking before proceeding.
- Login as a Savvas administrator.
- Click the Advanced Search link.
- Enter Org Name and click blue Search button.
- Click View Schools below Org ID to retrieve the School Overview page.
- Locate the school for which you need to disable Google Account Linking or Google Class Linking.
- Slide the toggle under the specific column from ON to OFF.
- Read through the message that appears as a pop up to confirm this is the correct step for the customer. Click the blue Turn Off button to save. Note that the toggle will not indicate OFF until you save the changes.
To enable Google Account Linking and/or Google Class Linking, slide the toggle to the ON position.

When Google Linking is disabled by Savvas, customers need to be aware of the impacts to their teachers and students. Please read through these carefully as you consult with customer on their options.
Customer administrators should unlink any remaining linked classes. Failure to do so will result in the following impacts:
- Realize classes are no longer linked to Google Classroom classes. Class links appear to still be linked, but in reality are broken.
- Assignments will no longer sync between Google Classroom and Realize for the linked class even though classes look as though they are linked.
- Students who did not link their account will not be able to access Realize from Google Classroom.
Once Google Class Linking is turned off by Savvas and the customer administrator unlinks the remaining link classes, the following are true:
- Unlinked classes are considered EasyBridge Plus (auto-rostered).
- Customers must use the classes in Realize since classes are no longer linked to Google Classroom.
-
The assignments become Realize only assignments and will NOT sync from Realize to Google Classroom.
-
Students must use the Realize class and will not be able to crossover from Google Classroom.

If a link is broken due to disabling Google linking in error, future links can be restored by turning Google Class Linking back on.
- Verify that Google Class Linking is enabled.
- Relink and sync for future assignments.
Past assignments will NOT be restored if the Google Linking is disabled, and then re-enabled.
